Recently, we were granted the opportunity to work with an extremely talented young woman by the name of Ariel Lin (IG: @arielllinnn). We wanted to plan a thematic Cherry Blossom inspired photoshoot.
First we had to find a location with an appropriate setting. I tried the Portland Japanese Garden, but there were some policy and pricing restrictions that put that location out of reach. I thought it would be fun to use Portland’s Waterfront Park, but those trees were all bare when I was scouting locations. Then I remembered one of my old colleges had a Sakura Festival each year, Clark College in Vancouver actually has 107 Cherry Blossom trees planted throughout the grounds of its main campus.
